JONATHAN DAVIS
Jonathan Davis is the only famous schizophrenic person I could find. In case you're of the older generatoin or you don't watch much TV or listen to the radio, Jonathan Davis is the lead singer of a heavy metal group called KoRn(now does it ring a bell?? No? Oh well, I tried).
As a child, Jonathan Davis was molested and abused. He went through life being teased and harassed. He had friends, but a lot of them just used him and pushed him around. One particular friend(name will remain annonymous)Jon had in high school was very pushy. He would often say, "I'll only be your friend if you dress like me and listen to the same music I do.". He would also follow Jon around on his dates and totally ruin them.
Jonathan met his best friends and future band mates
(which include:Brian"Head"Welch, James"Munky"Schaffer, Reginald"Feildy"Arvizu, and David Silveria)at an audition for band. They played together and hit it off right away.
The first self titled album that KoRn came out with didn't make an impact for a few months. But, slowly fans started to apear here and there until millions of teens and young adults around the world were thirsting for more KoRn.
Their second album titled "Life Is Peachy" hit big all over the world. Then a year or so later they released "Follow the Leader" and went on their "Family Values " tour. This is where the worst began. As Jon explains:
"The whole thing started soon after we realeasted the "Follow the Leader" album and went on the "Family Values" tour-- I was having all of my anxiety problems and was going totally crazy, nuts... I was going insane, developed schizophrenia...a lot of sh*t was going on and there were problems within the band because of the pressure and demands of touring. It all got to us. So, this is the story about it and the whole of my life-- from my family breaking up, crazy thoughts I had in my head, the truth about and against my management who would be screaming at me if I wanted to cancle a show, because we would be losing so much money... they didn't care if I could do it or not! They were more concerned with money than my health and the band....this album(Refering to their most recently released mastepeice 'Issues') is a long journey of what I went through emotionally. All songs are related to that period which was a combination of several years of my life. At that time, I could only funtion while onstage , performing. The moment it was finished, I was back in my depressed world... For me, those two hours onstage were the only thing that kept me going and the rest was spen hiding on a tour bus, being sick, crying for no reason, and trying to drown all my troubles in substances......"
